Zuckerberg completes hearing

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg appeared for the House Financial Services Committee yesterday, for a hearing on Facebook’s Libra project. In the hearing, he stated that Facebook would leave the Libra association if it would not receive US regulatory approval. He also committed to preventing the anonymous use of the Calibra wallet.

Bitcoin’s hash rate sets a new all-time high

Once again, Bitcoin’s hashrate sets a new all-time high. The hash rate refers to the overall computing power involved in validating transactions on the Bitcoin blockchain. More power means more network security and it is also perceived as being a sign of trust in Bitcoin’s potential profitability.

BTCUSD drops more than 5%

Bitcoin dropped below 7.500 USD yesterday afternoon, hitting a four-month low of around 7.300 USD.
