Number of Americans owning crypto doubled in 2019

The number of Americans who own cryptocurrencies has almost doubled in 2019, from 7.95% in 2018 to 14.4%, according to a new survey by Finder.

The Australia-based financial services firm has surveyed 2,068 Americans to figure out that 36.5 million people in the United States own some form of crypto to date.

Bakkt to launch Bitcoin options

The Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) is launching bitcoin options contracts through its subsidiary Bakkt.

Bakkt announced Thursday that it would “launch the first regulated options contract for bitcoin futures,” adding a new product to its current slate of physically-settled Bitcoin futures contracts.

Bitcoin’s decreasing search interest does not bode well for BTC price

According to data from Google, search interest for the term ‘Bitcoin’ is currently near the lowest it has been in the past three months. The lack of interest in the world’s largest cryptocurrency seems to go hand in hand with a sharp decline in price, as the coin has dropped to a worryingly low $7,500 at the time of writing this.
