Crypto Market Capitalization Hits 5-Month High
The total market capitalization of all cryptocurrencies has reached it’s highest level since the 18th November of last year. The value reached a top of $185.89 billion earlier today and has since then slightly decreased to $182.523 billion.
This increase was partly due to the price rallies of the two largest cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin and Ethereum. Bitcoin continued it’s upwards price movement over the weekend and is currently trading at $5,232, being up 1.40% on the day. Ethereum was the top gainer of all top 20 currencies, being up 6.30% in the last 24 hours and trading at $180.
The End Of The Bitcoin Lightning Torch
The Bitcoin Lightning torch experiment will soon end, after having been passed on hundreds of times and “burning” through 54 countries, including heavily regulated countries like Iran. The torch now has 10 passes to go, before the transaction limit of $170 is reached, meaning that the torch could no longer be sent in one transaction. Not only has the experiment shown the power of the lightning network but it also gained a lot of exposure, due to celebrities like Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey participating.
Coinbase Among Top 50 U.S. Employers of 2019
Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has placed 35th on LinkedIn’s top 50 U.S. employers list for 2019. The exchange was the only blockchain related firm that made it onto the list and placed 9 places higher than JPMorgan. Coinbase was especially praised for it’s above industry standard perks, providing very high levels of healthcare and other services to it’s 600 employees.
