Coinbase CEO wins patent for Bitcoin email transactions
Brian Amstrong, the CEO of Coinbase, has patented a system that allows users to transact Bitcoin directly using email.
The method enables users to make Bitcoin payments using email addresses tied to wallet addresses, without incurring transaction fees.
Iran wants to create crypto to fight US dollar
Speaking at an Islamic conference in Malaysia on 19 December, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called Muslim nations to strengthen financial and trade cooperation and to cut their reliance on U.S. dollar.
To achieve this, Rouhani proposed to create a Muslim cryptocurrency as one of a number of means to confront the economic dominance of the United States.
BTC dwarfs all other investments this decade
Data from monitoring resource Blockchain shows that since 2010, Bitcoin has delivered profits of almost 9 million percent and that Bitcoin has been profitable 89% of its lifetime.
1 USD invested in BTC ten years ago was worth around 90.000 USD as of 18 Decemver. By comparison, 1 USD of gold is now worth 1,34 USD.
