Today’s crypto and blockchain news, brought to you by the Crypto2Cash Team
CCN Is Shutting Down
CCN, one of the biggest cryptocurrency news site to this day will be shutting down. The site was founded back in 2013 and apparently has to shut down due to a new google core update, which heavily lessens the sites traffic. According to the last article posted on the website, mobile traffic went down by 71 percent and daily revenue by a whopping 90 percent. The CCN team will now move to HVY.com, a news platform for journalists and will no longer operate on their own website. CCN is not the only crypto news site affected by the new update. Coindesk and Cointelegraph, two of the largest news sites both experienced a traffic drop of 34.6 and 21.6 percent respectively.
Litecoin Hits $125
Litecoin has hit a new yearly high yesterday, temporarily trading at almost $130. Many experts link the recent price rally to the upcoming halvening, which is now only 56 days away and will see the reward for Litecoin miners going from 5 to 2.5 coins. Litecoin has once again risen past Bitcoin Cash and reclaimed it’s place as 4th largest cryptocurrency in total marketcap. The Litecoin hash-rate also saw a new all time high, rising over 400 TH/s for the first time ever, showing that the network is healthy and interest in the coin is high.
Stolen Bitfinex Bitcoins On The Move
Parts of the funds which were stolen in the Bitfinex hack back in 2016 started moving again on early friday morning. Throughout the day a total of $1.37 million in Bitcoin were moved, as noticed by popular Twitter account “Whale Alert”. This was the first time the funds were ever moved, showing the patience of the hackers, which law enforcement was not able to track to this day. It can now be expected that the hackers will start to move the funds through complicated money laundering schemes, which will make the funds nearly untraceable.
