‘Bitcoin’ Google searches hit 3-month high
According to Google Trends, worldwide Google searches for ‘Bitcoin’ — currently worth 9.260 USD — are now near a 3-month high.
Current interest is at the highest level since early August, when BTC price was around 11.700 USD. Notably, Africa leads in searches for ‘Bitcoin’.
P2P crypto trading volume increased 2800% in South Africa
Peer-to-Peer cryptocurrency trading platform Paxful has seen 2,800% more trades in South Africa this month compared to October 2018.
In a blogpost published on Oct. 28, Paxful notes that Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town are the three cities that see the highest numbers of users.
Chinese state-owned media try to dampen crypto enthusiasm
President Xi’s statement to “seize the opportunity” of blockchain technology was followed by a great crypto enthusiasm in the Chinese market.
Now, Chinese state-owned media are attempting to dampen the enthusiasm into crypto stocks as state-backed agencies are publishing material meant to encourage “more rational” investments.
